This is my third copy of _The Home Owner's Journal_. In each case, for each house, I filled the book with information that would help me know what I did: what paint color I chose, how much paint I bought & how much I used, who wallpapered the dining room with how much paper. When I sold each house, I left the book on the kitchen counter for the new owners' use. I have given the book as a housewarming gift. The best part about it is the book is unpretentious. Because of its casual format and comical illustrations, it's easy to mark up, daub with paint and paste sample rug and wallpaper swatches inside, and the messier it becomes, the more useful and valuable it grows. I recommend it to any new homeowner!

This is so helpful in keeping track of what you do around your home or rental. It has sections for every area of your home - hallway, bedroom, living room, kitchen, etc. You write down what you have for window coverings,floor coverings, and cost of each; what kind of paint and quantity used and year you painted, measurements of windows, walls and floor space, a list of your furniture and other objects in those rooms, purchase, date and cost of each. A separate place to keep track of the date you put in the furnace, hot water heater, AC , roof, gutters etc., cost and the contractors you used. You record it all in pencil so that you can easily erase and put down new dates and particulars of your updates.

I buy the journal as a house warming gift for new homeowners. Its always well received.

I wish the previous owner of my house had filled one of these out. We have spent years trying to figure out what all has been done to our older home. This book lets you file everything. Every new home owner needs one and they should require one when you buy a home. Very helpful.
