I had given my copy of this book to my friend as a gift because she borrowed my copy to make her favorites from. My mother-in-law made our family quilts until she passed away. My quilts are now becoming worn and I need to make new ones. I love traditional patchwork and this book has many of them. I am looking forward to using them in the future.

I was looking for a book by the same name that was suppose to have a certain pattern in it. This is not it. May find something sometime t make in it. Just be careful with books with similar names.

This book is a bit outdated, but there are still a couple of nice quilts (provided you use better fabrics). I made the turtle quilt for my niece out of lovely pastel batiks and tie-dyes and it turned out really well.

I would buy this book, just for the quilts that are shown in the pictures (fall in particular), but you also get the templates for all the shapes to scale. It is also helpful that each project gives finished project size, list of materials, quantities (cut list), and directions. For those who may be getting started, there are 13 pages at the back giving basic instructions as to tools, and methods for basic quilting using diagrams and photos. It is also a keeper for me.

I've never let this book go. It has classic patterns, beautiful pictures and good directions. I especially like the fall and winter quilts. It has lovely quick Christmas quilts. It also includes paper template and rotary directions. It is a keeper.

I have enjoyed this book, it has many cleaver patterns to use with their quilts. While making one though I discovered they are pretty vague on the directions. Saying something like attach piece b to piece a but not telling which side of the piece to attach. I have had to take out several rows of stiches and now realize I have to look carefully at the picture and try to figure out which way the pieces go. I'm making the turtle quilt right now and their are many pieces each with many sides. It's a good idea book though. Enjoy! Just try the pieces before actually sewing them.
