Quite often, a person with an orphaned heart wants to be loved but is afraid to reach out for fear of being rejected. Pastor Casey Treat explains, "Many Christians are bitter, scared, angry, or abusive because their hearts have not been healed. As you allow your heart to be healed and made whole, you will break negative cycles, such as short-term relationships, debt, and marriage and family problems. You will begin to have fun in your relationships; you will enjoy your job more; and you will feel a sense of destiny. So, how is your heart condition? You may not know it, but your heart is deciding.

Casey Treat was born and reared in a suburb of Seattle, Washington. As a teenager, he was heavily involved with drugs and entered the former Washington Drug Rehabilitation Center, a Christian-based program founded by Julius Young. I have no family except my son and no friends. My mother abused me and my father abandoned me. I have a high IQ and have been unable to do anyhthing in life for any kind of success because of the orphaned heart as this is calling it. I know this but have been unable to do anything about it. I help everyone and everyone I have ever helped, including those who I have literally saved their lives have used me and left me constantly, There has never been anyone who has treated me kindly. BUT I am letting God be my and my sons family and be the one who treats me kindly now because Casey really has helped speak to those mental barriers I have. In fact he is the first preacher that I know of has taught on my particular problem.

I borrowed this book from a co-worker and then spilled water all over it so I'm ordering this book as a replacement. My co-worker thought this book might help me through some stuff that I was going through, but as a non-Christian I had real difficulty in extracting much use from this book.

However, if you ARE Christian, if you study the Bible and have or are in the market for a good spiritual advisory, this book might be useful to you. My co-worker loves this book and said that it helped her through some really tough times.
