A truth that really is and always will be is that the body and the spirit constitute our reality and identity. When body and spirit are inseparably connected, we can receive a fulness of joy; when they are separated, we cannot receive a fulness of joy (see D&C 93:33–34). The Father’s plan is designed to provide direction for His children, to help them become happy, and to bring them safely home to Him with resurrected, exalted bodies. Sadly, some young men and young women in the Church today ignore things as they really are and neglect eternal relationships for digital distractions, diversions, and detours that have no lasting value.

Neal A. Maxwell was an apostle and a member of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day. Even in these, however, let us leave a record so that the choices are clear, letting others do as they will in the face of prophetic counsel. There will also be times, happily, when a minor defeat seems probable, but others will step forward, having been rallied to rightness by what we do. We will know the joy, on occasion, of having awakened a slumbering majority of the decent people of all races and creeds which was, till then, unconscious of itself.

Not for everyone I am sure but I loved it. Makes you think about things in a different ways than before

Few people are ready for this. It is a profound recipe for a "settled soul" as taught by a modern prophet of God.

Wonderful as always!

Have read this particular book many, many times. Each time I glean something new to ponder, or a different way of thinking, depending on where I am at the time and what experiences, feelings, trials and triumphs I bring to the page.

easy to read and keeps to the point. No long rambling ideas that are detracting from the central topic. Gave insight to things I had not really considered before. Something for every one, points that touch many lives and many points of view. Gathers you in without offending you.
Love the way Maxwell writes. No beating around the bush-clear, intelligent and makes spiritual sense. Like CS Lewis, Maxwell is able to take complex spiritual principles and present them in layman's terms that all can understand.
