The Holman genuine leather New King James Bible really has a nice touch and quality binding as compared to a "bound leather" Bible (NIV) I bought from a different publisher a few months back. The NKJ is a wonderful read, a nice blend of "new" and the established tradition of a King James. This burgundy leather is the one I bought for my mother as a Christmas present. My only complaint is that I would have liked to have gotten her a blue leather Bible, but I can only find the blue in "Bound Leather" as opposed to "Genuine Leather.

I am sort of picky about most things, but am really picky about a good Bible to be used as a daily reader. I am extremely happy with this Bible, and it has all the key features that I value. I consider this to be the best Bible on the market today.

What I LOVE about this Bible:

1) It is the New King James Version, which maintains the grand literary style of the King James, but is slightly more readable.
2) Rich, Beautiful leather cover. The Leather is genuine leather . . . not bonded and not the imitation. There is nothing like the feel and smell of a real leather Bible. The burgundy is a beautiful color.
3) Will sit flat and open. Most bibles if you open them and place them on the desk, the Bible will close itself, or pages will flip over. This Bible will sit on the desk flat and stable at the page you have opened it too. This is a really important feature. I like to make notes and journal as I study the Bible, so it it invaluable to have a Bible that will sit open where you put it.
4) Readable Text. I would not exactly call it "Large Print", but I would call it large enough to read.
5) Format is two column, nicely typeset, with excellent and extensive cross references in the center between the columns.
6) Excellent concordance in the back.
7) Nice size. The Bible is slim, and a convenient size to carry.
8) Nice index. The index is indented, which means you do not have tabs hanging out that get messed up. The chapter indexes are indented and very elegantly done.

What could be improved:
1) I really do not like the "Red Letter" feature, where the words of Christ are in red. All scripture is "God Breathed", and I do not like the implication that the Words of Jesus are somehow distinct and more important than the words of the Holy Spirit through John. All scripture is equally important and equally inspired.
2) Dont like maps in the back because it seems like the bindings always fail at the maps.

Bottom line is that I LOVE this Bible and consider it the best presently available. I ordered extras so when one wears out, I will have more in reserve.

Bibles are personal and if you use them, practical.
So, when the first one we gave our young daughter 20 years ago wore out we were hesitant to purchase another. After hearing her describe what she likes and doing research online and in reviews I decided on this one. It's a bit larger than her first, yet thinner which she says is okay. The genuine leather has a nice feel and although it's labeled Large Print it doesn't appear so. She's a discerning, busy mother of 4 boys that is sometimes difficult to please when making purchases for her. Judging from the comments and the smile on her face I think we scored!
Because of the thinness/quality of the paper used I noticed a slight bleed through when using the concordance in the back, but when I checked the other pages thankfully it wasn't really noticeable. I'd say this is a good quality product for the price.

My new Bible came in the mail exactly as described, and I am very happy with it! Light-weight enough to take to church, etc., as well as being the thin size I really wanted. And, the font size is still large enough to read easily for my 54 yr. old eyes! I'm really happy with it, and recommend it highly. I give it 5 stars!

I love my new bible. The ultrathin design is a nice change from other bibles I've owned. The print is a little smaller than I expected it to be for a large print but it is still readable. The print on the thumbs is quite small but still not a deal breaker for me. The leather cover is soft and supple. I'd recommend this bible to anyone who is looking for a lighter weight bible that is leather bound.
Error parents
Was the right size, print is larger than normal but not giant sized. A little snug in my old Bible cover but it did fit. Was just what I was looking for.

Both my husband and I were quite happy with this Bible, the quality, format, font size and on... We have both purchased much more expensive Bibles and have not been nearly as pleased as we are with this Bible. Very well done - a true five star rating!

I'm certainly not too happy with this purchase. I do like the NKJV, however, to sell this Bible as a large print edition is a stretch of biblical proportion. I can barely read it for 10 minutes without eyestrain. I will keep it for gifting to someone else who has stronger vision. In Amazon's defense the bible is clearly marked large print from the mfgr. I would estimate the font size at around 8-9.
This Bible was perfect for my son. He really likes the size and color. I was disappointed in the cover. I thought "genuine leather" would be better quality. It really feels more like bonded leather to me and should be sold as such.
