I found Wiersbe's book on the 'I Am' statements of Jesus to be a good read. I was personally challenged several times--by his spiritual insights, good use of Scripture, and meaningful quotes. It is a book that I believe that I will be rereading in the near future.

This book is about the importance of a Living Faith. All the way through there are encouragements to have a living relationship with the God who so wondrously revealed Himself to us. One of the quotes that sticks out in my mind is of the late Jaroslav Pelikan who wrote, "Tradition is the living faith of the dead; traditionalism is the dead faith of the living." (page 51) Interesting, Wiersbe points out that Jesus didn't condemn the tradition of the Jews at the time, "He simply asked them to allow that tradition to point to Him." (p. 51)

This book is not an in-depth scholarly work of the seven central statements of Jesus found in the Gospel of John. It is more of a practical encouragement-toward-application of these vital truths. I appreciate that Weirsbe is concerned with the spiritual condition of his readers, rather than just increasing their spiritual knowledge.

I read one of Wiersbe's books from his 'Be' series years ago and enjoyed it, so when I saw this on sale I downloaded it. As the title says, he examines the various I AM statements of Christ by chapter and then relates how their biblical meaning can be relevant to our lives today. Hoping to show us that Jesus is the same today as He was yesterday, if you get my drift. It was a fairly easy read, only about 208 pages and his in depth explanations had a number of scripture references as well as personal anecdotes. I liked it.
Global Progression
I found this book to ramble more than other works by Wiersbe I’ve read. Despite the fact that it’s all over the place and covers much of Christian theology, it is still thought-provoking and meaty, helping to grow faith. It did have some grammatical errors, mainly run-on sentences and the misuse of commas. However, this is still one I would recommend.

Very good biblical basis in this book. The book was good, but it did not give me too much information that I have not heard before. For example, I am the Good Shepherd and the Shepherd of the sheep. I had heard a sermon about shepherds and how they watch over the sheep in the sheep pens. This book was only a penny so I decide to purchase it. I was not sure if I would be interested in what the author was presenting. I was interested in the author's presentation of the manna from Heaven and how it related to Jesus. The book delivered exactly what the author claimed. It hust was not exactly what I was looking for at this time. It may be more meaningful to me at a later time.

I am constantly looking for material that gets to the meat of our Christian responsibility. Faith, righteousness, obedience, love and devotion to one another. Mr. Wiersbe hit the nail on the head with this one. I now use portions of this text for Bible study. Great job! I am recommending this book to my group to use as a daily reader along with their Bibles to gain a better understanding of our relationship with Jesus;our responsibility as Christians and how to better walk along this pilgrim journey.

This review is for the kindle edition. I am on the skeptical side today as to what I choose to fill my mind with especially when it comes to reading. Nothing replaces the written word of God period. However, Mr. Wiersbe references everything back to scripture with thorough explanation. One review had stated that this book would be better for seminary or study but I did not find the read difficult in any sense. We are called to study the word of God daily: "So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God"- Romans 10:17 It is hard even impossible to comprehend God's word if we are not eating it daily.

I highly suggest this read to everyone. I believe it will give you a renewed passion for Christ and bring joy to your soul.

There's so much information in these pages. There's so much to learn about God. It will take a lifetime. We could, and probably should, read this book more than once. We were created to worship God and glorify Him. If we thought more about eternity, we would acknowledge that life is not a solo enterprise. This guide reminds us that what we are in ourselves is not as important as what we are in Christ. Seek the Lord NOW while you can. Jesus is in the present tense. He's not somewhere in the distance looking down on us. God is by our sides daily.
This book explores the I AM statements of Christ, reminding us that Jesus is alive and with us--in the present tense--today. He didn't say "I was the Bread of Life." He said, "I AM the Bread of Life;" "I AM the Light of the World;" "I AM the Way, the Truth, and the Life."
