Reviews about The Little Quiet Book (A Chunky Book(R)) (7):
I bought the original version of this little treasure for my children when they were wee. It was a wonderful book we read again and again until the board pages were well worn. It's a memory my children and I will cherish forever.

I wanted to offer this same opportunity for a new mother and child I know, but I was disappointed to find that what I received in my new order was not the same version my family and I came to know and love. Though the pages were indeed the same exact ones in the book we owned years ago, there were several pages missing! My rating reflects the new 2002 version which is not nearly as perfect as the original version.
My teenager grew up with this book, and I purchased this for a new baby in the family - SO WISH I had read the reviews and realized that this is NOT the same book. It has been cut down, and not only are some favorite lines gone, it just sounds wierd! It just suddenly ends, and is clear that the last few pages are missing....plus, the pages aren't just chunky, their bizarre - overly thick, almost foam like. I'll be returning this one and gluing my old one back together. Will keep my eyes open for a better edition.
I bought this for a young lady who has a brand-new baby. It's a book that has really thick cardboard pages, and the manufacturing process requires pages in multiples of 8 or something, so THEY LEFT OFF THE LAST FIVE OR SIX PAGES! Yeow! If I was the author, I'd be SO angry about it!

My babies LOVED this book - it used to end with a perfect "time to go to sleep" message. Now it ends abruptly. What moron came up with the idea for this book?

I had high hopes for this little story. It turned out to be a bit of a let down. Price is way too high for this small book. It had potential to be a lovely little story, but it seems to be missing something. Pages are very thick, blue and green foam glued together. I teach a toddler class and found children trying to separate the blue from the green as though they were different pages.
This is one of 3 books (Go To Bed Fred and Goodnight Little Bear) that I saved from when my 11 year old was little. We introduced this and the others to his little sister 2 years ago and she loves them just as much - although she has torn them to shreds!

My son actually learned the concept of being quiet from this book. He would always says, "HUSH"

I am ordering another copy of this and the others!
Our very favorite bedtime book for 9 years and 4 children. However when ours finally wouldn't stay taped together any longer it was discarded to order a new one. Only about half the pages are printed in the new one discluding the very best parts, in our opinion. Please, publishers, please re-release the original!
My little boy, Jonathan, is 21 months old and he LOVES "The Little Quiet Book". It's one of his favorites, and he often hands it to me to read to him. The last page says "Hush", and he always repeats that after me. I enjoy the book, too, because it's so soft and soothing. The illustrations are really cute!
This book, along with its companion, The Little Noisy Book, were two of my children's favorite books when they were tiny. Now I have grandchildren, and I have passed along the Noisy one to one grandchild and this one to the other. I'm going to purchase another copy of each so that they each have the set.

These books are perfect for reading out loud. The poetry is evocative of the sounds they describe. This book is so peaceful that it is phenomenal as a bedtime ritual.
