As a mother and China scholar, I was thrilled to find this book for my kids. The pictures and narrative offer an illuminating and intimate view of daily life in (semi-rural) China. We discuss the differences in food, dress, school, etc. A great conversation starter and education tool! What a find!

Yikang's Day provided a wonderful glimpse into the life of a little girl who lives in a Chinese city. Expert photography brought her story to life. The details of her day were much appreciated by the group of children to whom I read the story. I would like to see a similar book written about a child in a Chinese village to provide perspective.
