My 7yo has been fascinated by Space and Astronomy since he was a toddler. He loves this book and I love the fact that it is a compact little package of information that he can carry around with him everywhere without damaging it or himself! Enough with ripped spines on Encyclopedias and toes stubbed by falling volumes!
It is your standard DK scientific publication (I wonder if they sell it full size as well??) with lovely diagrams, photographs and graphs. Clear explanations of the most complex theories and ideas and its small size have made this one a keeper. We originally got it from the library and now have ordered our own copy from Amazon.

We purchased this for our 5-year old who is a little obsessive about visual reference books. He loves the detailed pictures and we provide the words. While we love all of the DK Visual Encyclopedias, we really like the scale of this one. It is more compact and, as a result, more portable. We have always been pleased with DK's ability to combine interesting and relevant images with concise explanations. Bravo! I'm sure we'll be buying more.

The book arrived in good condition with no issues. Contains content as advertised except I did not realize it is only about 5" x 7" in size.
