Reviews about It's the Bear! (7):

This is a fun follow-up to the book 'Where's my teddy?'. Eddie's Mom doesn't believe there is a bear in their woods, but when the bear shows up after Eddie and his Mom get ready to picnic in the woods, she learns she's wrong. My 2.5 year old daughter loves this book, quoting parts of it often ('a great big bear bottom sat down on the lid'), and exhibiting an obsession for blueberry pie (despite never having had it). We also like 'My Friend Bear', to complete the set.
Skiletus
We bought this to replace a copy that had gotten ripped. This is the British version of it. We laughed a lot at the different words…such as Mum for Mom. It was not what we expect was a great learning experience for my boys. Very cute story.

My Daycare kids & I love these books.

The book cover itself is faded and doesn't look vibrant. Other than that the story is great and illustrations are vivid although it lacks a certain print quality. I'm sure the publisher is to blame.

I love Jez Alborough's series about Bobo and his escapades and bought It's the Bear for my grandchildren who are 20 months. It is the first of three books about Eddie, his teddy, Freddie and a bear. It took the girls sometime to enjoy the book ( it's probably best enjoyed by 2-3 year olds ) but it is now a favorite and they want it read to them all the time. I love Alborough's illustrations and I love his sense of humor. I think sometimes the rhyming suffers but I wonder if he has changed some words for his US market. "Come" and "Yum" work better with "Mum" than "Mom". The typo mentioned several times in earlier reviews has been fixed and Eddie remains Eddie throughout. I enjoyed this book most of the three in the series but the others are great reads too, My Friend Bear especially, is very touching.
Moogura
I love the story but the cover of the book was bent, pages were bent and there was a name inside the book that couldn't be removed

Who wouldn't want to continue to read about Eddies' further adventures in the woods! This book is a follow up to Jez Alborough's "Where's My Teddy". Mayhem and madness in the woods. Join Mom, Eddie and his teddy Freddie for a picnic in the woods and of course a few surprises!

This book is a must buy for small children!
I used to read this to a three-year-old preschool class and it is one book that every child in the class would pay attention to!
