Это документальное расследование интереснее большинства детективов – жизнь голливудской звезды Мэрилин Монро сама как закрученный триллер с шокирующей завязкой, запутанным сюжетом и постоянным ожиданием опасности Жанр Биографии и мемуары.

As the plump sausages were beginning to brown, there was a knock on the door. Chicago Mob Boss Sam Giancana showed no fear as he turned back the double locks on the heavy steel door of his fortress like home that protected him from the outside world. Sam looked his old friend Johnny Rosselli in the eye and invited him in. The men kissed on the cheek, exchanged pleasantries and shared a laugh. Then "Mooney", as Johnny affectionately called Sam, heard the sausages sizzling in their pan and ran back to the stove to keep them from burning. While he was rolling them over, Johnny quietly crept up behind him and placed the muzzle of a .22 caliber handgun equipped with a silencer at the base of his skull and said "Sam, this is for Marilyn". Sam hesitated a moment as he tended to the sausages. A split second passed. In that moment, an image of Marilyn Monroe, the quintessential Hollywood Goddess, platinum blond bombshell, orphaned child, cheesecake pin up girl, fantasy lover to thousands of men, supposed tragic suicide victim and lover of President John F. Kennedy and his brother Bobby, filled Sam's head. Then Johnny pulled the trigger.

I wanted to like this book! It's obvious there's a real story somewhere here, but it's embellished to the point that it reads like a Jackie Collins novel. I also ended up not liking Jeanne much midway through. Carmen appears to completely define herself by her physical and sexual attributes which makes her appear shallow and by the end, I was actually bored!

I just read Tony Curtis' autobiography, and he mentions that Marilyn Manroe was absolutely friends with Jeanne Carman so maybe there was more truth than fiction after all. If that's true-- her story is unbelievable!

While reading along I got the feeling that there was an inkling of a darker truth in the book that Carmen's son pieced together, although not very well. The book contradicts itself from one chapter to the next and Carmen tells a good story, just not necessarily a truthful one.

WOW!!!! HOT! HOT! This book is full of surprises and sheds a new light on some of the legends of our time. Set the record straight on the power of the Kennedy s and the Mafia. This is better than any movie. this could not have been made up. It was LIVED! Not for the faint of heart or the easily embarrassed. Keep this book out of the reach of children and minors. Be the hit of the next party and reveal all the secrets you learned..

This is a very interesting book, if it's all true. The author, Brandon James, is her son and she talks about many of the famous (and infamous) people she met....from show business icons like Marilyn Monroe, Bob Hope, Jack Benny, Errol Flynn, to name a few, to the Kennedys and mobsters such as Sam Giancana and Johnny Rosselli. It is about 550 pages and is broken up into chapters about each person.

This book is 80% fiction. It is really comical how the author (her son) can possibly know what took place without Jeanne being there. Conversations for instance? Johnny Roselli just happened to pick her up hitchhiking with her husband? Come on. There is no bibliography. This book is a sham. It has copied certain segments verbatim from other books like the death of Sam Giancana at the hands of Roselli. I can't believe this was even published.

Jeanne Carmen was a poor girl born to a single mother with her twin brother, Don. She developed quite early and left a terrible home life with an abusive stepfather for the life in New York City. There she would become an actress and a model. Regardless, she became friends with the likes of Marilyn Monroe, Joe DiMaggio, Frank Sinatra, Peter Lawford, and mobsters from Las Vegas. Of course, she writes about her relationship with Monroe which was just a friendship.

Both had come from terrible upbringings and Carmen was just as beautiful as Monroe. Regardless, these two blonde women with the looks of the golden age of Hollywood would engage with some of the world's most powerful men. Finally, Carmen writes about what probably happened to Monroe on the last night of her life. Had I have known that Jeannie was sick and dying of Lymphoma on December 20, 2007 at 77 years old, I would have bought this book sooner. Jeannie was from Arkansas, a small town country girl, who made it big by leaving home at 13 years old.

She writes candidly, openly, and quite honestly about her sexual relations with men like Sinatra, Dean Martin, the Kennedy brothers, and Vegas mobsters. She writes about her love of golf and golfing with Bob Hope. She also writes about Elvis Presley. They all died too young in her opinion. She ran away from Hollywood rather than building a career or face losing her life at the hands of Sam Giancana, the ruthless mobster, who she writes orchestrated Marilyn's death and probably the Kennedy brothers. I am glad that Carmen finally had the courage to write this book. She had spent years talking about Monroe and her suspicions. I am just sorry that she never had the career that she deserved. Unlike Monroe, Carmen ran to Arizona and became a loving mother to three children.

A informative and interesting look at life in Hollywood in the perspective of that time.
Can't believe she did not have one picture of her and Marilyn Monroe, so I think she is full of it, and every big major star like Clark Gable wanted to marry her ..... yeah okay ......
