Steele Rudd was the pseudonym of Arthur Hoey Davis (14 November 1868 – 11 October 1935) an Australian author, from Queensland best known for his novel On Our Selection Contents. Towards the end of his life appeared two capable books The Romance of Runnibede (1927), and Green Grey Homestead (1934). The Brisbane Courier.

In 1894 Arthur Hoey Davis, a young Brisbane public servant who dabbled in journalism, sat down to devise a nom de plume for his rowing column in the local newspaper. The by-line he chose was Steele Rudd. The Sydney Bulletin began to publish his stories in 1895 and four years later his first book, On Our Selection, appeared.
